Epstein Files Reference Anil Ambani in Newly Released Documents

New York, February 7, 2026

The name of Indian industrialist Anil Ambani has surfaced in a newly released set of documents linked to disgraced US financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to materials made public by the US Department of Justice and cited by international media reports.

The documents, part of a broader disclosure related to the Epstein case, include references to alleged communications and interactions between Epstein and Ambani during the period 2017 to 2019. The records do not allege criminal wrongdoing by Ambani and contain no charges against him.

What the Documents Claim

According to the released material, Epstein reportedly sought information about the Ambani family’s background and influence. The documents state that in March 2017, Epstein ordered books related to the Ambani family, including Ambani and Sons and Storms in the Sea Wind: Ambani vs Ambani, allegedly to better understand the family’s history.

The files further reference alleged text message exchanges dated March 9, 2017, in which Epstein and Ambani discussed making a meeting “interesting.” The authenticity and context of these alleged messages have not been independently verified, and no official confirmation has been issued by Ambani or his representatives.

References to Hollywood Figures

The documents also mention casual exchanges referencing Hollywood actors. In one cited 2017 conversation, Epstein reportedly joked about not being able to help with actress Meryl Streep, to which Ambani allegedly responded with a remark referencing actress Scarlett Johansson. At the time, Reliance Entertainment was a co-producer of the film Ghost in the Shell.

These references appear in the documents as conversational excerpts and are not connected to any legal findings or criminal allegations against Ambani.

Alleged Meetings and Travel Mentions

The records further claim that in May 2019, months before Epstein’s arrest, Ambani was in New York and allegedly met Epstein at his Manhattan residence on the Upper East Side. Following that meeting, Epstein is said to have sent a message expressing pleasure at the interaction. The documents also reference discussions about possible meetings in Paris and conversations during the World Economic Forum in Davos in early 2018.

The files additionally mention comments attributed to motivational speaker Deepak Chopra, allegedly made in 2017, describing Ambani in general terms. These remarks appear as third-party opinions recorded in the documents and are not substantiated findings.

No Response From Ambani So Far

As of now, Anil Ambani or his representatives have not issued any public statement responding to the references in the Epstein-related documents. Ambani has faced significant financial and legal challenges in recent years, including sharp declines in personal net worth, but the current disclosures do not link him to Epstein’s criminal activities.

Background on the Epstein Case

Jeffrey Epstein was convicted in 2008 in Florida for soliciting a minor for prostitution and later arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges. He died in custody in August 2019 in what authorities ruled a suicide. Investigations into Epstein’s network have continued, leading to periodic releases of documents referencing numerous public figures, often without allegations of wrongdoing.
