A concert by legendary Bangladeshi singer James was cancelled on Friday night after a crowd attack and stone-pelting incident disrupted the event in Faridpur, Bangladesh.

Despite full preparations by organizers, the situation escalated after a group attempted to forcibly enter the venue, prompting authorities to call off the program on police instructions.


📰 What Happened at the Faridpur Event

According to a report by The Daily Star, the concert was scheduled to begin around 9:00 PM at the Faridpur District School premises, organized to mark the school’s 185th anniversary.

Event organizers said that after being denied entry, a group of outsiders attempted to break into the venue, triggering chaos.


🚨 Stone-Pelting, Attempt to Seize Stage

When stopped by security, the group allegedly began throwing bricks and stones and attempted to occupy the stage. Students of Faridpur District School resisted the attackers, forcing them to retreat.

Around 10:00 PM, organizing committee convener Mustafizur Rahman Shamim announced the cancellation of the concert following directions from the Faridpur Deputy Police Commissioner.


🏥 Students Injured in the Incident

Committee member Rajibul Hasan Khan told bdnews24 that all arrangements had been made to ensure a successful concert, but the reason behind the attack remains unclear.

He said that 15 to 20 students of Faridpur District School were injured after being hit by bricks during the violence.
