Mumbai, December 26, 2025
Thursday proved to be a crucial day at the box office as multiple new releases clashed with strong holdover films. While fresh titles entered cinemas, it was the already running films that largely dominated collections across India.
The Bollywood romantic drama ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, managed a decent start at the domestic box office. Released on December 25, the film earned ₹7.50 crore on its opening day. Despite heavy pre-release buzz, the opening remained moderate rather than explosive.
‘Anaconda’ Fails to Impress Indian Audiences
Hollywood release ‘Anaconda’, which also hit Indian theaters on December 25, struggled to attract audiences. The film collected just ₹1.60 crore on Day 1, failing to make an impact amid stiff competition from existing big-ticket releases.
Trade analysts attribute its weak performance partly to the continued dominance of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, which has already secured a strong foothold in theaters nationwide.
‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Crosses ₹109 Crore
James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ completed one week at the Indian box office on Thursday. On its seventh day, the film added ₹13.30 crore, taking its total India collection to ₹109.45 crore. The sci-fi epic continues to perform steadily, especially in premium formats.
‘Dhurandhar’ Remains Unstoppable
Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’ showed no signs of slowing down even in its third week. On its 21st day, the film raked in an impressive ₹26 crore, pushing its total box office collection to ₹633.50 crore at the time of reporting.
With sustained footfalls and strong word-of-mouth, Dhurandhar continues to outperform new releases, reinforcing its status as one of the biggest box office successes of the year.
