Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ continues its record-breaking run, outperforming major Bollywood and pan-India releases not only at the box office but also in the digital streaming market. The film has now reportedly surpassed ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ in securing the biggest OTT deal, marking a major milestone for Hindi cinema.
According to media reports, Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights of ‘Dhurandhar’ for a staggering ₹285 crore, making it one of the most expensive OTT acquisitions in Indian film history. This deal overtakes Netflix’s ₹270 crore purchase of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which previously held the record for the highest-priced digital rights.
Industry analysts say the deal reflects Dhurandhar’s sustained theatrical performance, strong audience reception, and growing global demand for high-budget Hindi action thrillers.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ Officially Announced
Riding on the massive success of the first installment, the makers have officially announced the sequel, ‘Dhurandhar 2’, which is set for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
‘Dhurandhar’ features Ranveer Singh in the lead role, supported by a powerful ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and Danish Pandor. The film’s gripping narrative, scale, and performances have played a key role in its strong box office and digital appeal.
