Beirut, Lebanon | November 24, 2025 — An Israeli airstrike struck the Dahiyeh suburb in southern Beirut, marking the first such escalation in the Lebanese capital since June. The strike comes amid growing regional instability and rising cross-border hostilities.
According to Lebanon’s Civil Defence, emergency crews were deployed to an apartment building in the targeted area, where they inspected structural damage and searched for potential casualties. Initial reports indicate no immediate fatalities, though assessments are ongoing.
Dahiyeh, a stronghold of Hezbollah, has been a focal point in past conflicts between Israel and the Lebanese militant group. This latest strike heightens concerns of further escalation across the Middle East as regional actors exchange warnings and military activity intensifies.
Authorities in Lebanon have yet to issue an official statement, while Israeli officials have not commented on the operation. Regional observers warn that the attack could trigger broader engagements if tensions continue to rise.
