Today marks the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. On this solemn occasion, several leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid homage to Bapu at Rajghat.
Prime Minister Modi bowed before Gandhi’s statue and offered floral tributes. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan also paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on his birth anniversary.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reflected on Gandhi’s philosophy and said,
“Today is October 2nd, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It has been a subject of research worldwide whether independence can be achieved only through truth and non-violence. But India has proved it. Along with truth and non-violence, Swadeshi played a huge role in the freedom struggle. India’s struggle showed that centuries of slavery can be ended through these values.”
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at the Government Secretariat in Jaipur on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Gandhi Jayanti is not only a day of remembrance but also a time to reaffirm commitment to the values of truth, peace, and simplicity that Mahatma Gandhi stood for.
