Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana via videoconference today, emphasizing that government schemes are aimed at the welfare and empowerment of women.

Transforming Lives in Bihar

Smt. Ranjeeta Kazi, a tribal woman from West Champaran, expressed her gratitude to PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar for the transformative development in her region. As a member of the Jeevika Self Help Group, she highlighted improvements in roads, electricity, water, sanitation, and education. She also praised schemes like cycle and uniform distribution and the Ujjwala Yojana, which has improved health by replacing smoke-filled kitchens with gas connections.

Ranjeeta shared her plans to utilize the initial ₹10,000 support under the Mahila Rojgar Yojana to purchase a pump set for farming jowar and bajra and eventually invest ₹2 lakh to start a flour business promoting indigenous grains. She described how such initiatives are empowering women to become “Lakhpati Didis” and celebrating the scheme as a festival alongside Navratri.

Inspiring Stories of Entrepreneurship

Smt. Reeta Devi from Bhojpur recounted her journey starting in 2015 with a ₹5,000 loan from the Bhaiya Pahal initiative. She began with four goats, later expanded to 50 hens, and ultimately established her own poultry farm with government support. She also credited schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Nal-Jal, and Ayushman Bharat for improving her family’s living conditions and access to healthcare.

Reeta emphasized that government support enables women to provide education and opportunities for their children, recalling how bicycles and uniforms helped her attend school with pride. PM Modi applauded her clarity in explaining the schemes and noted her continued educational pursuit, now enrolled in an MA in Rural Development.

Expanding Opportunities Across Bihar

Nurjahan Khatoon from Gaya district shared her plans to expand her tailoring shop with the ₹10,000 first installment and create employment for ten people. She expressed gratitude for free electricity up to 125 units, which has empowered women and lighted homes for children to study. PM Modi encouraged her to train other women weekly, spreading inspiration across villages.

Smt. Putul Devi from Purnea district narrated how she began with a small sweet-selling business and expanded her enterprise thanks to the Mahila Rojgar Yojana. She praised financial initiatives like Jeevika Bank loans, free electricity, and enhanced pensions for women. PM Modi acknowledged her perseverance, noting the transformative impact on her family and community.

PM Modi’s Message

The Prime Minister emphasized that government initiatives are designed to empower women, strengthen livelihoods, and uplift communities. He called upon women to share more inspirational stories of how government policies and schemes have positively impacted society.

“When women rise, society rises with them,” PM Modi remarked, highlighting that the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana and other schemes are shaping the future of Bihar’s women.
