Seoul , North Korea – : The North Korea has issued a scathing condemnation of Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Iran, labeling it a “crime against humanity” and accusing the West of fueling a wider Middle East war. The statement, released Thursday by the foreign ministry via state-run KCNA, expressed “serious concern” over the violence, which Pyongyang claims could lead to an all-out regional conflict.

A spokesperson from North Korea’s foreign ministry said Israel’s actions amount to state-sponsored terrorism, sharply criticizing what it called the deliberate killing of civilians. “The illegal act of state-sponsored terrorism by Israel is raising the danger of a new all-out war in the Middle East region,” the statement read.

Israel launched strikes on Friday, claiming it targeted Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The strikes triggered nearly a week of heavy exchanges between the two countries, with both launching missile barrages in response. Iran said on Sunday that Israeli attacks had killed at least 224 people, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. The Iranian government has not released an updated death toll since.

Israeli officials reported 24 deaths and hundreds injured on their side, many of them civilians, as retaliatory missiles from Iran and its proxies continued to strike across Israel’s central and northern regions.

North Korea warned the United States and European powers against what it described as “fanning up the flames of war,” suggesting that Western backing for Israel could escalate the crisis further. The statement did not mention any specific retaliatory actions but accused the U.S. of double standards in foreign policy.

The comments come amid growing ties between Pyongyang and Moscow, with North Korea openly supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Iran has also deepened its defense partnership with Russia, signing a strategic military agreement in January. Western governments have accused Iran of providing Moscow with drones and short-range missiles for use in the Ukraine conflict.

North Korea’s remarks mark one of its strongest positions yet on the Israel-Iran conflict and align with a broader coalition of anti-Western states seeking to counter U.S.-led influence in global conflicts.
