Haridwar . The Kanwar Yatra is starting from Monday, July 3. During this, a fair will also be held, so the security system will be strong here. Regarding the Kawand Yatra 2023, under the chairmanship of ADG crime and law and order V. Murugesan, a briefing of the police force appointed in the Kawand Mela 2023 was organized in the multipurpose building located at Police Line Roshanabad.
The Kanwar Mela briefing was completed in the presence of IG Range Karan Singh Nagnyal, District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garnyal and SSP Ajay Singh. During this, all the forces received from Kumaon and Garhwal ranges including the under-training recruit constables and 6 companies of paramilitary forces received from the center also participated.
In the Mela area divided into 12 Super Zones, 33 Zones and 153 Sectors, the responsibility of the Super Zone has been entrusted to the ASP level officers, the responsibility of the Zone to the CO, INSP and the Sector to the SHO, SO, SSI level officers. Along with this, 5 teams of BDS, Dog Squad have been appointed in the Mela area.
It was informed in the meeting that two teams of the Anti-Terrorist Squad, appointed for the prevention of terrorist incidents, would remain active in the Mela area at all times and be ready round the clock to deal with every suspicious person or situation. During this, IG-Range Karan Singh Nagnyal shared his deep experience related to Kanwar Mela 2022.
