The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari released a book entitled “K.G. Saiyidain – A Life in Education” edited by Ms. Zakia Saiyidain Zaheer and Dr. Syeda Saiyidain Hameed at a function here today. Addressing on the occasion, the Vice President said that why is it that in our own earlier generations so many great minds were teachers ? He opined that a teacher is a custodian of values and civilizations and for the same reason, a teacher is intellectually a superior person. He doesn’t come under the influence of a certain kind of public opinion and other pressure. A teacher is the person to whom the responsibility of next generations is entrusted. Shri K. G. Saiyidain belonged to that generation where teachers were regarded as role models. This publication is a very timely reminder.
The book chronicles the life of Shri K.G. Saiyidain as seen by his friends and family, and has a section with a selection from his works that have transcended time and continue to be relevant today.
