On Saturday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 346, which is in the very poor category. It registered an increase of 15 index points as compared to Friday. At the same time, yesterday morning, visibility was reduced due to smog and haze. Visibility was recorded at 600 meters between 7:00 am to 9:00 am at Safdarjung Airport. Also, visibility was 800 meters at Palam between 8 am and 9 am. Due to this, drivers had trouble seeing clearly at a distance. According to the Decision Support System (DSS), the share of pollution caused by transport in Delhi was 21.408 percent. Whereas, the share of pollution caused by burning garbage was 2.112 percent. Apart from this, the share of pollution caused by road dust was 1.59. On Saturday, the AQI in Shadipur remained in the severe category. While in 26 areas including Anand Vihar, Burari, the AQI was recorded as very poor and in three areas the AQI was recorded in the poor category.

According to IITM, the winds blew from the north-west. The wind speed was 8 kilometers per hour. On Sunday, the wind is expected to blow from different directions. During this time the wind will blow at eight kilometers per hour. On Monday, the wind will blow from the north direction. In such a situation, the wind speed will be four km per hour. In such a situation, smog conditions will persist along with light fog.
