Three Years Rigorous Imprisonment To Then Administrative Officer And Development Officer Of United India Insurance Company In A Corruption Case

The Special Judge, Nagpur has convicted Shri Sunil Bhave, then Administrative Officer and Shri Anil Kedar, then Development Officer both of United India Insurance Company Limited, Nagpur U/s 120-B r/w 420 of IPC, 467 of IPC, 471 of IPC & Section 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) of PC Act, 1988 for causing loss of Rs. 8.24 Lakh(approx). Shri Sunil Bhave was sentenced to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs. 10,000/- while Shri Anil Kedar was sentenced to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs. 35,000/-
            The CBI investigation revealed that the accused persons entered into criminal conspiracy and dishonestly & fraudulently paid Rs.8.24 Lakh(approx) as business commission to Insurance Agents. A loss of Rs. 8.24 Lakh(approx) was caused to United India Insurance Company.
            The Trial Court found the accused guilty & convicted them and acquitted a Divisional Manager, Assistant Manager & Administrative Officer, all of United India Insurance Company.
