The film “The Kerala Story 2” has completed six days in theaters, continuing its run despite pre-release controversies and legal debates. While the movie generated attention before its release, its box office performance has remained relatively modest so far.
With the Holi holiday falling during the week, industry observers were watching closely to see whether the festival would give the film’s collections a boost.
‘The Kerala Story 2’ Day 6 Box Office Collection
According to early estimates reported by box office tracking platform Sacnilk, “The Kerala Story 2” earned approximately ₹2.49 crore on its sixth day in theaters.
These numbers represent initial estimates and may increase as final reports come in.
On Day 5, the film had collected around ₹4 crore, bringing its total box office collection to about ₹19.14 crore so far.
Despite the holiday period, the film’s daily earnings suggest a slower pace compared with many recent releases.
Slower Start Compared With the First Film
In terms of box office performance, “The Kerala Story 2” appears to be trailing behind its predecessor.
The first installment of the film franchise performed significantly better at the box office, eventually earning more than ₹200 crore worldwide.
On its sixth day alone, the original film reportedly earned around ₹12 crore, highlighting the contrast with the sequel’s current earnings trend.
The slower growth indicates that audience response to the second installment has been comparatively moderate.
Story and Cast of ‘The Kerala Story 2’
The makers of “The Kerala Story 2” claim that the film’s narrative is inspired by real-life incidents.
Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film explores themes related to betrayal in relationships and alleged religious conversion, focusing on the experiences of several young women from different Indian states.
The movie stars:
Ulka Gupta
Aishwarya Ojha
Aditi Bhatia
in lead roles.
Competition From Other Films in Theaters
At the box office, “The Kerala Story 2” is competing with several other Hindi releases currently running in cinemas.
Among them:
Taapsee Pannu’s film “Assi”, which earned about ₹22 lakh on its 13th day
Shahid Kapoor’s “O Romeo”, which collected around ₹64 lakh on its 20th day
Despite its modest performance, “The Kerala Story 2” outperformed both films on Wednesday, leading the day’s box office earnings among the titles currently in theaters.
Industry analysts will continue monitoring the film’s weekend performance to determine whether it can gain stronger momentum in the coming days.
