The accused has been arrested from Delhi by the Pratapgarh police for making indecent remarks by putting the face of former Congress National President Sonia Gandhi on some other photo and making the post video viral on social media. The arrested accused Bipin Kumar Singh Shandilya is originally from Lakhisarai in Bihar. It was told that he lives in Sangam Vihar area of Delhi for a long time.
Accused sent on remand till March 14
Pratapgarh SP Amit Kumar said that a person named Bipin Kumar Singh Shandilya was arrested for sharing an edited and morphed video of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Twitter. He was produced in the court and the court has sent him on remand till 14 March. A report regarding the incident was given on March 3, 2023 by Lata Sharma, a resident of Nai Abadi Pratapgarh.
Police engaged in questioning the accused
It was told in the report that Bipin Kumar Singh Shandilya, a person named Bipin Kumar Singh Shandilya posted on his Twitter ID and made a video in an indecent way by editing her face from a photo of Congress National President Sonia Gandhi. A case was registered on the report under relevant sections of IPC, IT Act and Indecent Representation of Women Act. After identifying the accused with technical help and analyzing social media, it was found that he is used to doing such acts. On Friday, the team arrested the accused from Delhi. Police say that the interrogation of the accused is going on. Also, the matter is being investigated.
