Mumbai, India — February 23, 2026
The weekend box office remained subdued as multiple Hindi releases struggled to gain strong momentum. Despite pre-release buzz, most films in theaters reported modest earnings on Sunday, with no major breakout performance.
Among the current releases, “Assi” narrowly led Sunday’s earnings, while “O Romeo” continued its steady but underwhelming run.
‘O Romeo’ Box Office Collection
The film collected ₹47.1 crore in its first week. On its ninth day (Saturday), it earned ₹3.4 crore, followed by ₹3.25 crore on Sunday. Its total domestic collection now stands at ₹55.91 crore.
‘Do Deewane Sehar Mein’ Performance
Featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur, “Do Deewane Sehar Mein” hit theaters on February 20. The romantic drama has struggled to draw large audiences.
On Sunday, the film earned ₹1.42 crore, taking its total collection to ₹4.18 crore.
‘Assi’ Sees Slight Edge
Directed by Anubhav Sinha and starring Taapsee Pannu and Kani Kusruti, “Assi” has received positive feedback for its subject and performances.
Made on an estimated budget of ₹30 crore, the film earned ₹1.47 crore on Sunday, slightly ahead of its competitors for the day. Its total box office collection stands at ₹4.07 crore.
‘Tu Ya Main’ Update
“Tu Ya Main,” starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, released alongside “O Romeo.” However, by its 10th day, the film’s theatrical run appears to have weakened significantly. Sunday figures were not immediately available.
Industry Outlook
Trade analysts note that despite multiple releases, overall footfall remains moderate. With no film showing breakout numbers, the coming weekdays will determine whether word-of-mouth can help stabilize collections or if new releases will shift audience attention.
