A documentary on the efforts of Save Shardha Committee to impress upon the governments of India and Pakistan to initiate a dialogue to re-open the ancient temple of most revered Shardha Mata temple located in Shardi Village (Kishen Ganga) of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir was today released with the screening of the film amidst the galaxy of dignitaries at a function in Jammu here today.
The documentary produced by Save Shardha Committee (SSC) an organisation dedicated to take forward the issue of reopening of Shardha temple also held an interactive session where participants asked various questions regarding the temple and the achievements so far.
The programme started with the offering of flowers to Shardha Mata at Shardha Mata Temple Complex at Bantalab and the pious soil and stones brought specially from the premises of the ancient Shardha temple in PoK by SSC members.
RavinderPandita, Chairman and founder Save Shardha Committee and incharge APMCC (NCR) briefed the audience about the efforts of the SSC and the logic behind the documentary besides elaborating about the future strategy to achieve the desired goal and the dignitaries he has met in this regard so far which include the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti the other day.
He also informed the audience that the holy soil and the stones specially received from the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is not only the most significant achievement of the SSC but also a huge step forward in making both the countries realise the importance of reopening of the ancient temple for the pilgrimage for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir on the pattern of permit system for Muslim residents who visit their relatives in POJK.
Sh Ajay Bharti, MLC lauded the efforts of SSC and APMCC for reopening of the Shardha Mata Temple in PoK and offered full support to their struggle. he hoped that with such dedication of the team the day was not far away when residents of Jammu and Kashmir would visit their most revered temple in PoK.
He also offered some suggestions which were readily accepted by the team to further the cause of the Shardha temple reopening.
Advocate Ramesh Arora, MLC and founder member SSC also spoke at length on the activities of the SSC and informed the audience that he had recently lead a delegation of 10 legislators of different parties to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti requesting her to take-up the matter with the Government of India.
Vinod Pandit Chairman APMCC and Founder member SSC deliberated upon the struggle launched by APMCC since 2006 for the reopening of the Shardha temple and his fast unto death protests twice at Jammu in 2011 for 10 days and at Porbandar Gujarat for 15 days in this regard.
He also told the gathering how the then Prime Minister designate NarenderaModi had invited the APMCC delegation at his residence and assured to take-up the matter with the concerned authorities when he comes to power.
The programme was conducted by senior journalist and national spokesperson APMCC and a member of SSC King C Bharati who introduced the concept and also listed the struggle of APMCC and SSC in this regard besides sharing his own experience on the issue.
