The ripple effect of major box office successes and high-profile releases continues in Bollywood. Following the historic run of Dhurandhar, Salman Khan’s upcoming big-budget film Battle of Galwan has now impacted the release strategy of another much-anticipated project backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
According to media reports, the release of ‘Mere Raho’, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, has been postponed from its earlier planned April 2026 window. The decision comes as Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan is scheduled to hit theaters in April 2026, creating a potentially risky box office clash.
Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ Set for April 2026
Battle of Galwan is a large-scale patriotic action drama inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict involving the Indian Army. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is reportedly based on a well-known book and has generated strong anticipation among audiences due to its real-life inspiration and nationalistic theme.
Given Salman Khan’s massive box office pull and the film’s scale, trade analysts believe competing releases during the same period could struggle for screens and audience attention.
Why ‘Mere Raho’ Was Postponed
Mere Raho, on the other hand, is described as a soft, emotionally driven romantic drama. The film marks the first on-screen pairing of Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi and was initially slated for a late-April 2026 release.
Sources close to the project suggest the makers decided against a clash, fearing the film could be overshadowed by a high-octane action spectacle. As per industry insiders quoted by Bollywood Hungama, the producers preferred to give the film adequate breathing space rather than risk a subdued theatrical run.
New Release Window: July 2026
The film has now been rescheduled for a July 2026 theatrical release, a period often considered more favorable for content-driven films. July typically offers balanced screen availability, stronger word-of-mouth growth, and less competition from festival and tentpole releases.
Adding to the film’s appeal, Mere Raho is reportedly inspired by a Korean film and was shot extensively during the Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan. Visuals from the snowy locations have already created buzz online, further raising expectations from the project.
