Once again, discussions regarding the retirement age among government employees and officers have intensified. The General Administration Department has sent a proposal to the Chief Minister to increase the retirement age of government employees in Madhya Pradesh to 63 years, which will be considered by the cabinet. If the proposal is passed then after 5 years the retirement age will be increased once again.
Five years ago, just before the assembly elections in 2018, the state government had decided to increase the retirement age limit from 60 to 62 years, which has benefited more than 1.5 lakh employees and officers of the state. Among the demands that the employees’ organizations are making before the elections, there are major demands like promotion, allowances, salary fixation, merger, old pension restoration.
Madhya Pradesh government is going to consider some of these demands. Although the employees have not demanded to increase the age limit of retirement. Still, the state government can take its decision. According to a senior official of the General Administration Department, all the proposals related to the employees have been sent above. on which to decide.
Madhya Pradesh government’s meeting will be held soon
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going to hold a meeting with the General Administration Department and Group of Ministers soon on the issue of employees. Major decisions can be taken in the meeting, including the decision to increase the retirement age. PLC/
