Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, released two books titled ‘Pandrahbeesh Ke Janglon Se’ and ‘Barah Saakshatkar’ authored by noted writer Shri Rajender Rajan, here today. ‘Pandrahbeesh Ke Janglon Se’ is a collection of memoirs of the author about the remote area of Pandra Beesh in district Shimla, presenting a vivid, interesting and informative description about the rural ambience, dense and deep forests in the area apart from rich cultural, social, life style and ethos of people in the area. It also includes other memoirs on R.K.Studio of Mumbai, Dharamshala town, Kallowani Mohalla of Upendra Nath Ashk, Capt. Ram Singh Thakur, Yashpal Ka Gaon, Sudershan Faakir and Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. The other book ‘Barah Saakshtkar’ contains interviews of Mahasweta Devi, Indira Goswami, Amrita Pritam, Gobind Mishra, Chitra Mudgal, Narendra Mohan, Himanshu Joshi, Keshav, Vibhutinarayan Rai etc. besides noted Pahari miniature painter O.P.Tak.
Chief Minister congratulated Shri Rajender Rajen for bringing two important publications which would provide a peep into the life of people in Pandrah Beesh area of district Shimla and noted personalities in different fields. He appreciated the efforts of the author for compilation of the data and giving it shape of a book. He said that readers would be able to know about the remote area of district Shimla besides understanding the personalities of the dignitaries interviewed by the author.
Renowned litterateurs of the town Shri Keshav, Shri Sudarshan Vashisht, Shri S.R. Harnote were prominent among others present on the occasion.
