The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil felicitated heads ofMaharatna PSUs today at the function organized by Department of Public Enterprises in New Delhi to celebrate Public Sector Day. In the picture Hon’ble President is felicitating Shri Arup Roy Choudhury, CMD NTPC- A Maharatna PSU by presenting a shield and citation. Shri Praful Patel, Union Ministerof Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises and Shri A. Sai Prathap, Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises and Shri S.P.Singh director (HR) NTPC are also seen.

Shri Roy Choudhury has the vision to position the Maharatna Enterprise on course to become the largest and best power producer in the world. He has taken a number of initiatives to further strengthen NTPC as a world-class organization. Under the leadership of Shri Roy Choudhury, NTPC has achieved its highest ever new capacity addition of 2,490 MW in one year 2010 -11.
