This includes 18 temples in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts, Sunil Ghanwat, coordinator of the Maharashtra Temple Federation, told a press conference organized by the Maharashtra Temple Federation at Shitladevi Temple in Mahim, Mumbai on Saturday.
Let us tell you that a meeting of the trustees of the temples of Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts was organized by the Maharashtra Temple Federation on June 7 at the Savarkar National Memorial located in Dadar. The trustees of all the temples present in this meeting unanimously passed a resolution to implement the dress code in the temples.
A question was raised on behalf of the federation that if the dress code is applicable in government offices, then why not in temples? It was said that this is necessary so that the life force remains in the temples. On this occasion, Dhanashree Kelshikar of Sanatan Sanstha said that wearing sattvik clothes in the temple benefits the sanctity of the temple. During this, it was clarified that apart from implementing the dress code, attention will also be paid to other things related to the temples.
