BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s name is included in the list of the 42 leaders for Time magazine’s “Person of the Year ‘.Time magazine’s list of 42 possible candidates includes world leaders , entrepreneurs and Celebrities across the world. The winner will be announced next month. Other then Modi Time magazine included the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, U.S. President Barack Obama, Pakistan’s Malala Yusufzai , Amazon CEO Jeff Bijos and NSA whistle blower Snodn Edward. The list has also included UK’s Prince George.
The Time magazine has described Modi as,” A controversial Hindu nationalist who is Chief Minister of one of the Indian states Gujarat and who is also the potential candidate who can overthrow India’s ruling Congress party in the coming elections.” Narendra Modi is the only Indian included in the list.
Modi has received 2650 votes till now and is leading with 25 per cent of votes in the online reader poll. Modi is way ahead of Snowden who by November 20 got only 07% in his favour, and he is second in the race.
Syrian President Bashar Assad,Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie , CEO of Twitter Dick Costolo ,CEO of JP Morgan Chase Jamie Dimon , Pope Francis and Oscar winner Anjelina Jolie are among the other contenders.
IMF chief Christine Legard , Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer , German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s names are also among the list of names. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , Iran’s President Hassan ruhani , President of China has also been included in the list
