The trailer launch event of Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film O Romeo took an unexpected turn when veteran actor Nana Patekar walked out of the venue before the trailer was unveiled. The incident, captured on video and widely shared across social media platforms, has led to widespread speculation about the actor’s sudden departure.
Nana Patekar Left After Waiting for Over an Hour
According to reports and viral social media clips, Nana Patekar arrived on time for the trailer launch held in Mumbai. However, lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri reportedly reached the venue much later than scheduled. After waiting approximately one to one-and-a-half hours, Nana Patekar decided to leave the event.
A video circulating online shows the actor exiting the venue appearing visibly displeased. Event staff attempted to stop him, but he continued walking out while mentioning “time” and delays.
His absence on stage during the official trailer unveiling raised questions, prompting director Vishal Bhardwaj to address the situation.
Vishal Bhardwaj Explains Why Nana Patekar Left
Speaking to the media during the event, director Vishal Bhardwaj confirmed that Nana Patekar had indeed left before the trailer launch began.
He explained the situation with humor and affection:
“Nana is like a mischievous child. He said, ‘You all made me wait an hour, so I’m leaving.’ We didn’t feel bad about it at all. We’ve been friends for 27 years, and this is who Nana is—his quirks make him unique.”
Bhardwaj clarified that there was no conflict and that their mutual respect remains intact.
Nana Patekar Posed With Vishal Bhardwaj Before Leaving
Despite leaving early, Nana Patekar did attend the event briefly. Photos and videos from the venue show him posing for the media along with director Vishal Bhardwaj. He appeared in his signature kurta-pajama outfit.
However, he was not seen in any photographs or clips with Shahid Kapoor or Triptii Dimri, as they had not yet arrived. The actor was also missing from the stage during the official trailer launch.
Interestingly, Nana Patekar still supported the film by sharing the O Romeo trailer on his Instagram Story shortly after the release.
