Narendra Modi Government Announces Special Eid Initiative
On the occasion of Eid, the central government has announced a special initiative called ‘Saugat-e-Modi’, aimed at benefiting 32 lakh poor Muslims across the country. This initiative ensures that they do not face any difficulties in celebrating the festival of Eid.
BJP’s Outreach Through ‘Saugat-e-Modi’
BJP leader Neeraj Kumar emphasized that the Muslim community should move beyond the influence of middlemen and brokers who claim to represent them. He announced that 32,000 BJP workers will visit 32,000 mosques to distribute benefits under this initiative to 32 lakh poor Muslims.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan also highlighted the government’s continuous efforts for Muslim welfare. He referred to programs like Eidi Yojana and Ustad Yojana, along with the abolition of triple talaq, as significant steps taken by the Modi administration. However, he acknowledged that the Muslim community’s electoral support for NDA remains limited.
BJP Leader’s Statement on Muslim Votes
BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated that while some educated Muslim youth and women are supporting Modi ji and NDA, the influence of traditional vote contractors is diminishing. He claimed that Muslim voters are gradually leaning towards NDA, signaling a shift in the political landscape.
On Monday, various political parties organized Iftar events in Patna, but several Muslim leaders distanced themselves from Chirag Paswan’s Iftar party. Addressing this, Paswan reiterated that despite government efforts to uplift Muslims, the NDA struggles to secure their votes, largely due to entrenched political dynamics.
What is the Saugat-e-Modi Yojana?
The Saugat-e-Modi Yojana is a special welfare program launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to promote government initiatives among the Muslim community while simultaneously aiming to gain political support for the BJP and NDA.
Key Highlights of the Saugat-e-Modi Yojana:
- The initiative primarily targets Ramadan and Eid celebrations to enhance community engagement.
- The government has planned outreach to 32 lakh Muslim families and collaboration with 3,000 mosques.
- The program is being viewed as both an inclusive welfare measure and a strategic political move.
This campaign is being considered a crucial component of BJP’s broader political strategy, aimed at fostering closer ties with the Muslim community while ensuring their participation in national development initiatives.
