Bollywood’s powerhouse performer Manoj Bajpayee is once again in the limelight, this time for his upcoming horror comedy film titled Police Station Mein Bhoot Hai. The film reunites him with maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, a collaboration that already has fans buzzing with anticipation.
The duo has previously delivered cult classics like Satya, Shool, and Kaun, films that not only won critical acclaim but also marked milestone moments in Bajpayee’s acting journey. With Police Station Mein Bhoot Hai, the two are venturing into uncharted territory — the horror comedy genre, a first for both.
Ram Gopal Varma made the official announcement via his social media, revealing the film’s intriguing title and its quirky tagline: “You cannot kill the dead.” He also teased the film’s unique premise, stating, “Usually people run to the police when they’re scared, but what happens when the police themselves are scared?”
The plot revolves around a haunted police station, where the officers are terrorized by a gang of ghosts. This spooky-yet-comical setup promises a rollercoaster of laughter and jump-scares. The film explores what happens when law enforcement is paralyzed not by crime—but by supernatural fear.
According to Varma, the project will blend humor with horror, a cocktail that Indian cinema hasn’t explored in depth. He added that while he has experimented with gangster epics, thrillers, romances, and political dramas in the past, this will be his first deep dive into horror comedy.
With Manoj Bajpayee’s razor-sharp acting skills and Varma’s flair for atmospheric storytelling, Police Station Mein Bhoot Hai is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year. The buzz is strong not only because of the genre but also because it marks the comeback of a director-actor pair that has previously set new benchmarks in Indian cinema.
