Loving Mankind Means True Devotion To God

True devotion to God lies in loving His creation i.e., mankind.  Worshipping God without love and goodwill for humanity in mind will remain a hollow ritualism and dogmatism.  God cannot be pleased by harming or hurting the man. While addressing the congregation at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan Sec. 30-A. Shri Mohinder Singh, Shayiojak of Chandigarh Branch has told that His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission, while addressing the one-day Bhakti Parv Samagam Delhi held by the Mission to remember and take inspiration from the devotees who expressed their devotion to God through physical service as ordained by Satguru – the True Master.  The Samagam was attended by thousands of devotees not only from Delhi, Chandigarh and its adjoining areas but various other parts of the country also.  Several delegates came from abroad. His Holiness said that bereft of love for humanity, worshipping God is nothing more than hypocrisy, a show off.  True devotion to God does not identify itself with a particular dress or appearance or even rites and rituals.  It is a subject of mind and the mind must be vast enough to treat the entire mankind as its own.  And this state of mind can be attained only by uniting it with the vast and boundless Almighty God. Baba Ji said that God cannot be pleased while we oppress and harm fellow beings, hurt their feelings, commit atrocities and behave brutally.  This will render all our rituals such as reading and reciting of Holy Scriptures, visits to places of pilgrimage, religious sacrifices and ceremonies futile and meaningless. True devotion has no place for ego or false pride.  Those who indulged in ego lost their identity of a true devotee.  A true devotee is not narrow-minded or selfish. He believes in universalism which means love and cooperation for all. Baba Ji said, a true devotee is as tolerant as earth and as deep and vast as an ocean.  He is not a frog in the well.  He believes in forgiveness which may not change the past but enlarges the future certainly.  He reforms himself.  He does not point out the faults of others.  He picks up and follows their good qualities only. His Holiness said that the objective of this Bhakti Parv is to show to the world the right path of devotion to God.  It must be based on uniting with God and loving humanity.  Earlier, Baba Ji’s holy mother Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji said that a true devotee always relies on Satguru and Satguru too does not let him down.  He unites him with God which itself becomes a great source of happiness.  It is Satguru who bestows peace on the mind of devotees.  Otherwise, the world causes restlessness only, she said.  The Samagam began with a colourful procession in which thousands of devotees in general and members of Sewa Dal in particular led His Holiness Baba Ji, Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji and Pujya Mata Ji in a flower-bedecked open vehicle with band, etc.  They expressed their faith and devotion by singing and dancing.  They carried placards highlighting the principles of the Mission.
