Middle East – : Israel’s military confirmed on Monday that Iran launched more than 100 drones in a direct attack on Israeli territory. Israel’s advanced air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming drones, preventing large-scale damage.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said attacks were not limited to drones. Rockets were also launched from southern Gaza, intensifying pressure on Israel’s multi-front defense. In a bold counterstrike, Israeli forces shot down a military plane near Mashhad Airport in Iran, over 1,400 miles away—marking one of Israel’s longest-distance military operations under Operation Rising Lion.

Iranian state media reported the deaths of three high-ranking officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Intelligence Chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Kazemi, his deputy Hassan Mohakik, and senior officer Mohsin Bagheri were all killed in the Israeli airstrike.

Amid growing fears of escalation, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and his entire family were moved to an underground bunker for safety. This rare move signals the seriousness of the current crisis and the high stakes involved.

As tensions explode across the region, the world watches closely to see if this spirals into a full-scale war between two powerful forces in the Middle East.
