Ireland’s Indian-origin Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has resigned. He has also left the post of leader of his party – Fine Gael Party. He said- The reason for my leaving the post is both personal and political.

He said that I feel that the coalition government of the country will have a better chance to move forward under the leadership of some other leader. His party has started nomination for the new leader. Its results will be declared on 5 April. At the same time, elections for the new Prime Minister will be held in the Parliament on April 9.

Leo, 43, was the youngest Prime Minister of Ireland. This was his second term. In 2017, at the age of 38, he became Prime Minister for the first time.
