The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal to fill up the gaps in the organizational structure of cultural institutions with professionals, so that the Heads of Organization and their teams can work together, to upgrade and modernize these organizations. This step will help to bring in best international practices, such as digitization of the records in the institutions like the National Library and the National Archives. The knowledge and expertise of the professionals will help bring these organizations achieve parity with international organizations.
For the purpose of achieving the above goals, it is necessary to create suitable posts of professionals in the Archaeological Survey of India, National Archives, National Museum and National Library equivalent to Professors in the University system.
