India Warns Pakistan at UN after India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, P. Harish, delivered a sharp and direct response to Pakistan during a United Nations Security Council debate, warning Islamabad against sponsoring terrorism and reiterating that Jammu and Kashmir is an inseparable part of India.
India used the global diplomatic platform to strongly defend its position on cross-border terrorism while rejecting Pakistan’s repeated attempts to internationalize the Kashmir issue. The exchange between the two neighboring countries took place during a discussion on maintaining the principles of the UN Charter.
India Reasserts Right to Act Against Cross-Border Terrorism
Speaking at the UNSC, P. Harish emphasized that India has every right to defend itself from terrorist attacks originating across its borders. He stated that terrorism remains one of the biggest threats to international peace and security and warned that countries supporting extremist activities cannot escape accountability.
Harish made it clear that India will continue taking firm and decisive action against terrorism in all forms. He stressed that cross-border terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances and called on Pakistan to stop supporting extremist networks operating against India.
The Indian envoy also accused Pakistan of repeatedly using terrorism as a state-backed policy tool while simultaneously making contradictory statements on global platforms.
Pakistan’s Kashmir Remarks Trigger Diplomatic Clash
The diplomatic exchange intensified after Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, raised the Jammu and Kashmir issue during the Security Council debate.
Pakistan claimed that UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir remain unresolved and accused India of preventing implementation of those resolutions. Islamabad also repeated its long-standing demand regarding the so-called right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir.
India immediately rejected those claims and accused Pakistan of deliberately ignoring historical facts and international obligations.
P. Harish stated that Jammu and Kashmir legally and irrevocably became a part of India following its accession in 1947. He emphasized that India’s sovereignty over the region is complete and non-negotiable.
India Highlights Pakistan’s Violations of UN Resolution 47
During his address, Harish also referred to United Nations Security Council Resolution 47 adopted on April 21, 1948.
He pointed out that the resolution required Pakistan to withdraw its forces and armed personnel from the territories under its control in Jammu and Kashmir before any further political process could take place.
According to India, Pakistan never complied with that condition, making its repeated references to UN resolutions selective and misleading.
India has consistently argued that Pakistan ignores its own obligations while attempting to shift international attention toward India.
Harish further stated that Pakistan has violated India’s sovereignty multiple times through wars, armed aggression, infiltration, and support for cross-border terrorism.
India Maintains Strong Anti-Terrorism Position
India’s latest statement at the United Nations reflects New Delhi’s continued zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.
Over the years, India has repeatedly raised concerns about terror financing, extremist organizations, and cross-border infiltration at international forums. Indian officials have consistently maintained that terrorism and diplomacy cannot coexist.
India has also urged the international community to adopt stricter measures against countries accused of harboring or supporting terror infrastructure.
Security analysts believe India’s strong remarks at the UNSC are aimed at reinforcing its global diplomatic stance and strengthening international cooperation against terrorism.
Kashmir Remains Internal Matter for India
India once again reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter and rejected any form of external mediation.
New Delhi has consistently maintained that all issues with Pakistan must be resolved bilaterally without third-party involvement. Since the constitutional changes introduced in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019, India has repeatedly defended its decisions as sovereign and lawful.
Pakistan, however, continues raising the Kashmir issue at international platforms despite India’s objections.
