Amit Singla, an IAS officer of the 2003 batch of AGMUT cadre, assumed charge as Secretary – New 
Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today. Shri Amit Singla has done Masters in Economics.
Immediate after assuming the charge, Shri Amit Singla convened an introductory meeting with all Head of the Departments of NDMC at Council Room, Palika Kendra, New Delhi.
Amit Singla succeeds Dr.Rashmi Singh who has been transferred North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North-DMC) as a Additional Commissioner. Shri Amit Singla has held several important assignments in past, serving both Central and State Governments as well as abroad in various capacities. He has worked in Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. He has served as Counsellor in Permanent Mission of India to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva.
He has served in Delhi Government in capacity of Director (Education) and also was Deputy Commissioner (Revenue). He has also worked in the Arunachal Pradesh in various capacities in the Departments of Excise & Taxation, Finance and Banking in addition to serving as District Magistrate in the district.
