If pet is kept in the house, then tax will have to be paid, otherwise a heavy fine will be imposed.
If you are also thinking of keeping pets like dog, bull, cow, sheep and goat at home, then this news is for you. In fact, an annual fee will be charged for keeping cows and bulls in the state. Now, instead of registering every dog, the municipal bodies will charge Rs 150 and Rs 200 from the owners of cows and bulls as registration fee. This registration will be done for one year and the identification mark of the animal will also be issued during the registration.
The Urban Development and Housing Department has made this arrangement in the Madhya Pradesh Municipal (Registration and Control of Stray Animals) Rules, 2023. These rules will be applicable at all places of Municipal Corporation, Municipality and Municipal Council. The category of animals specified in this may include dog, ox, horse, pig, camel, mule, goat, sheep or any other animal. The rules state that every animal living in an urban area will be given a branding code to determine its identity and number.
Have to register
At the time of registration, a veterinary certificate has to be given that the animal does not have any infectious disease. The branding code to be issued for the animal will be attached to the animal by microchip or tag or any other means under the supervision of the veterinary doctor and its information will be recorded in the register of the urban body. Re-registration will have to be done after one year.
Penalty will be recovered if left stray
In the new rules of the department, it has been said that there should be sufficient number of kanji houses for keeping stray animals in the urban body area. Stray animals will be kept in Kanji House. If the animal of an animal owner is found wandering more than twice, the animal owner will be issued a notice within seven days and an explanation will be sought and after that the animal will be confiscated and penalty will be recovered. These rules will also be effective in case of animals being brought for display. If a person takes his pet animal to a public place, he shall not take it without chaining or tying it with a rope so that it does not cause trouble or harm to any person.
information to be given
Any person who rears animals in urban areas, during registration, he and his father’s name, address, number and type of animals, their water, light and sewage disposal arrangements will have to be told.
