To review the progress on the issues taken up
during the previous visit of the HS at Chandigarh College of
Engineering and Technology, College of Architecture , a meeting was
convened by the Secretary Technical Education Sh. Ram Niwas today with
Joint Secretary Technical Education, Chief Engineer, Principal, CCET,
(Degree Wing), Chandigarh, Principal, CCET (Diploma Wing), Chandigarh,
Principal, College of Architecture, Chandigarh .
The principal, College of Architecture apprised that all the damaged
furniture like lecture stands, tables, chairs , blackboard and drawing
tables in all classes and studios shall be replaced and is under
active consideration. He further informed that the Wi-Fi connections
in college, boys’ hostel and Architecture Girls Hostel will be
activated in a few days. In addition to this, the College Carpentry
Workshop will be fully equipped with wood planners and a laser cutting
machine.
The COA will have proper gymnasium hall with good basic equipment for
the fitness of the students. The Basket Ball court will be fully
renovated and the studios will be air conditioned shortly. The
students will be facilitated with the latest software to update their
streams. A new day-night studio named “design Cube” for students
academic endeavors will be ready in a short period. The students are
preparing the interior design scheme of the Design cube including the
drawings for renovation of the college canteen. In the coming times
COA will introduce M.Arch in proceeding years. The HS directed the
principal to purchase a new deluxe bus for the college. The Lighting
and Illumination of the Capitol Complex buildings and structures to be
done by College of Architecture has also been started.
HS asked the principal CCET that facility of Wi-fi to be extended in
all the hostels along with Degree Wing and New Cafeteria. It was also
decided to provide 52 seaters bus for CCET students for industrial
visits. In addition to this, HS also directed Chief Engineer to take
further necessary action to procure the facility of Video Conferencing
in the college along with Basket Ball, Lawn Tennis and Badminton only
for students in CCET.
During the meeting it was also decided to take up the complete
renovation work of the Multi Purpose Hall with upgrading the profile
lights & sound system, floor tile work, false ceiling, stage
renovation etc. To facilitate smooth working of Library, the Home
Secretary asked the Principal to recruit additional library staff and
to extend the facility of issuing books beyond 5 P.M. to the students
of Degree Wing. To ensure security, it was further decide to install
the CCTV cameras in the library. For the campus placement in CCET, The
Home Secretary also asked Principal CCET to appoint a Training Program
Officer immediately.
