Haryana ,

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda  today condemned the attitude of the legislators of the INLD party  in the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today saying that they being the elected representatives of the people should raise issues concerning the people in the House and give constructive suggestions but they regretted that till date they have never given any suggestion. The Chief Minister was interacting with media persons in the press lobby of the Vidhan Sabha complex here today.  Mr Hooda said that the legislators of the INLD neither liked to participate in discussion on  adjournment motion submitted by  Congress MLA Mr Sampat Singh on the issue of uprightness in public life nor did they want to listen to reply on Governor’s address. He said that the Court has delivered its verdict  in case of JBT Recruitment and both the Congress and the CBI have nothing to do with it.          Mr Hooda said that in every session they behaved in a similar way and did not like to participate in deliberations in the House. He said that either they themselves walk out or create a situation in which they are  sent  out  by the Speaker whose duty is to run the House. Mr Hooda also said that the Speaker did not incite any one during the proceedings in the House. Mr Hooda said that these legislators of the INLD kept discussing as to why the Congress MLA Mr Sampat Singh is referred as Prof. If we go through the 15 years old proceedings of the House, we would see that all used to call him as Prof. He said that the legislators of the opposition had been discussing this issue so that the House might not function smoothly as the issue raised by Mr Sampat Singh pertained to public morality as to how should be the conduct of the leaders.   Mr Hooda reminded that earlier some legislators, who held office, had resigned on registration of an FIR against them, even before they were convicted, and they included Mr Gopal Kanda, Mr Zile Ram Sharma and Mr O.P.Jain.  He said that Mr Sampat Singh was of the view that we as elected representatives are answerable to the people whom we represent. Without naming Mr Om Prakash Chautala, Mr Hooda said that is the leader of opposition not answerable to the people.Politics should have moral standard, he added saying that former Prime Minister Mr Lal Bahadur Shastri , when he was Railways Minister, had resigned due to a railway accident. When asked, “Do you think Mr Chautala would quit”, Mr Hooda replied that it was up to him. But when again asked, Mr Hooda said that had he been leader of opposition, he would have quit.  When asked how would be the Union Budget for the year 2013-14 to be presented tomorrow, Mr Hooda said that budgets of the Congress party are always people friendly and he expected that it would be like the yesterday’s Railway Budget. Mr Sampat Singh had submitted in his adjournment motion, which was deferred till tomorrow that uprightness in public life is of vital importance always. The stress has already been laid down on the importance of probity in public life and especially in the domain of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies that those convicted by the court should not hold any public office. The   Special Judge-II, CBI, Rohini Courts, New Delhi has convicted Mr Om Prakash Chautala, Leader Opposition in a case which is known as “JBT Recruitment Scam” on January 16,2013.
