Good News for Government Employees: DA Increased Again by 4 Percent

Following the footsteps of the central government, several state governments have decided to increase the dearness allowance (DA). Among these states, the Uttar Pradesh government has emerged as a harbinger of good news, elevating the spirits of lakhs of employees and pensioners. This welcome decision entails a significant 4 percent increase in the DA. Consequently, state government employees can now rejoice in the benefits of an augmented salary. The Yogi government has proven its commitment towards the welfare of its employees and pensioners by implementing this raise in DA and DR.

Timely Decision for Enhanced Employee Well-being

On Tuesday night, a crucial decision was taken by the Uttar Pradesh government to uplift the employees’ welfare. Effective from January 1, 2023, the state has increased the DA of its diligent employees. This substantial increase translates into a DA rate of 42 percent. The late Tuesday decision, initiated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to benefit a staggering 16.35 lakh employees and 11 lakh pensioners residing in the state.

Yogi Adityanath Tweets in Support

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his commitment towards the well-being of state employees and pensioners through an official tweet. In the tweet, he announced the increase in the dearness allowance and dearness relief payable by the Uttar Pradesh government. Effective from January 1, 2023, the state government has decided to raise the allowance by 4 percent, elevating it from 38 percent to an impressive 42 percent. This step is taken to serve the interests of the 16.35 lakh state employees and 11 lakh pensioners working under the Uttar Pradesh government.

Previous Rate: 38 Percent DA

Until this recent increment, state employees in Uttar Pradesh were receiving a DA rate of 38 percent. Additionally, the issue concerning the payment of DA arrears has been duly addressed. On March 24, the central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also approved the proposal to increase the dearness allowance. This concerted effort demonstrates the commitment of both central and state governments to enhance the livelihoods of their dedicated workforce.

42 Percent DA in Multiple States

The state of Uttar Pradesh is not alone in implementing an increased dearness allowance. Several other states have also embraced this positive change. Employees in these states are now enjoying a 42 percent DA rate. Alongside Uttar Pradesh, Haryana is another state that has raised its DA by 4 percent, ensuring its employees receive the benefits of a 42 percent DA. Similarly, Jharkhand is providing its employees with a dearness allowance at the rate of 42 percent.
