Every year Gita Jayanti is celebrated on Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month. Mokshada Ekadashi is also celebrated on this date. According to the belief of Sanatan Dharma, on the day of Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month, Lord Krishna gave the Geeta Updesh to his supreme disciple Arjun. Therefore, Gita Jayanti is celebrated in the month of Margashirsha. According to religious belief, by reciting the entire Shrimad Bhagwat Gita on the day of Gita Jayanti, one gets the fruits equivalent to millions of Ashwamedha Yagyas.

Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month will start on 11th December at 03.42 am and will end on 12th December at 01.09 am. Udaya Tithi is considered in Sanatan Dharma. Therefore, Gita Jayanti will be celebrated on 11th December

By reciting Geeta, Lord Shri Krishna becomes very happy and opens the way to attain salvation.
