Humble to be Chandigarhians’ a Face Book Group of more than 28000 members held a Blood Donation Camp inCollaboration with the socially conscious management of Doon International School Sector 69 Mohali, where about 70 persons donated their blood with collection arranged by Medical Association of Rotary Club . The Unique thing of this camp was the majority of the members of HTBC group were not known to each other and they were working together for the noble cause with unity and commitment towards society. Many of people including women, Senior Citizens and Youngsters were first time introduced face to face with their face book friends.
This face book group was generated four years back on 20 january 2014 by a Chandigarh based Dr.Harsh Wardhan Singh who is now residing at Georgia in Unites States of America and was remembered by the members of the Group. The National President of Sehajdhari Sikh Party Dr.P.S.Ranu who is also former Chairman of Punjab Homoeopathic Medical Council Govt. of Punjab was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Camp by himself donating blood along with his kids and other family members. Dr Ranu in his motivating speech said that our tears can’t save a life but our blood can save the life. He propagated about donating organs and eyes to the needy to save lives. The scene was emotional when Mr and Mrs PK Rattan the brand Ambassadors of the organ donors in the group addressed the audience explaining that how the wife had donated her liver to save the life of her husband to save her family world and after that they had a son which was never possible if the organ was not donated rather she would have been a widow.
On the occasion Mr. Charanjit Singh Mann, Director Doon International School was felicitated as Guest of Honor by Subhash Luthra and RM Kashyap Administrators of this social group. The Principal of the School Mrs Manjeet Kaur Madra also donated her blood. The Team leaders Mr. Navkiron Singh, Mrs. Riya Kakkar , Mr. Kamal kaler, Mrs. Pramila Bhandari, Mrs. Deepa Aggarwal and Mr. Sanjay Khandelwal, were the cohesive force to bring out accountable donors from outstations apart from tricity.
The event was blessed by Amrit Dhingra President Senior Citizens Chandigarh and RC Dhawan a prime donor extending back up support to the event. Mrs Sarita Khurana, an eminent Nutrition expert of the tricity also graced the occasion Highlight the event was a book release ‘ How to achieve Success ’ of an octogenarian member of the group Tarlok Singh Lamba .
All the donors were very well looked after by the organizers and profusely thanked them for this noble social cause.
