Diwali gift from the central government, those above 80 years of age will get additional pension

New Delhi – The Center has added a new facility to the pension received by government employees after retirement. The government has decided to give compassionate allowance to pensioners above 80 years of age. This information has been given by the Ministry of Public Grievances and Pensions.

Pensioners will now get the benefit of additional pension

According to the ministry, pensioners above 80 years of age will now get the benefit of additional pension. For this, the government has issued new guidelines, which will make the distribution of pension easier and faster. Under Rule 44 of CCS (Pension) Rules 2021, pensioners will get additional pension or compassionate allowance along with the basic pension. Which includes 20% of the basic pension for 80 to 85 years, 30% of the basic pension for 85 to 90 years, 40% of the basic pension for 90 to 95 years, 50% of the basic pension for 95 to 100 years and 100% of the basic pension for age above 100 years. For example, if a pensioner is 81 years old and is getting a pension of Rs 5,000, he will get Rs 1,000 more as additional pension. Similarly, a pensioner between 85 and 90 years will get Rs 1,500 as compassionate allowance.

This decision was taken to make the living of pensioners easier.

According to the ministry, when the age limit of the pensioner reaches 80 years, the additional pension or compassionate allowance will be applicable from the first day of that month. This decision has been taken to make the life of pensioners easier so that they do not face any financial problems. All pensioners should get the benefit of additional pension on time. For this, the Ministry has directed to send information to the concerned departments and banks.
