Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 Gets Clearance From Irish Censor Board
The upcoming action sequel “Dhurandhar: The Revenge”, starring Ranveer Singh, has cleared the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO) ahead of its global theatrical release.
According to details available on the IFCO website, the film completed its certification process on March 12 after being submitted by its distributor Moviegoers. The film has been placed in a strong adult category, mainly due to scenes involving violence, offensive behavior, and strong language.
Content Classification Details
The Irish censor board categorized the film’s violent and aggressive content as “strong.”
Meanwhile, scenes involving intimacy and nudity were placed under a moderate category.
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has not yet issued a rating for the sequel. However, the original film “Dhurandhar” previously received an 18+ rating in the United Kingdom.
Runtime Revealed: Nearly Four Hours Long
Along with the certification update, the film’s runtime has also been revealed.
According to the listing, “Dhurandhar 2” runs for 235 minutes, which equals 3 hours and 55 minutes.
The original “Dhurandhar” had a runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes and had received an ‘A’ (Adults Only) rating from India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
With the sequel extending the runtime further, Dhurandhar 2 could become one of the longest mainstream Indian films released in theaters.
Release Schedule
The film is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on March 19, while paid preview screenings in India are planned for the evening of March 18.
Directed by Aditya Dhar
Like the first installment, Dhurandhar 2 has been written, co-produced, and directed by Aditya Dhar.
The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
Star-Studded Cast
The sequel features an ensemble cast including:
Ranveer Singh
Sanjay Dutt
Arjun Rampal
R. Madhavan
Sara Arjun
Rakesh Bedi
Gaurav Gera
Danish Pandor
Since the character played by Akshaye Khanna was killed in the first film, it remains unclear whether the actor will appear briefly in the sequel through flashbacks or cameo appearances.
Reports also suggest that the film may include special cameo roles from several actors, although the production team has not confirmed these details.
Anticipation Builds Ahead of Release
With its lengthy runtime, large ensemble cast, and global release schedule, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” has generated considerable anticipation among movie audiences. The film’s certification by international boards marks another step toward its theatrical debut next week.
