Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is reportedly in early discussions for a major Hollywood project—a spin-off from the global action franchise Mission Impossible. According to industry reports, the actress recently attended a meeting in Los Angeles with members of Tom Cruise’s production team, reigniting speculation about her potential entry into the franchise.
While rumors of her involvement have resurfaced, there has been no official confirmation from the makers of Mission Impossible or from Padukone’s representatives. The discussions, industry insiders say, are still at an exploratory stage.
Padukone recently made history by becoming the first Indian actress inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame (Class of 2026)—a major milestone that has further fueled anticipation around her next international collaborations.
This is not the first time Padukone’s name has been linked with Tom Cruise. Back in 2016, reports suggested she had auditioned for Cruise’s film The Mummy, though the project did not materialize for her at that time.
Speculation around a Mission Impossible spin-off has been circulating in Hollywood following the release of Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning in May 2025. Fans on social media have expressed excitement about seeing Padukone—known for her action-heavy roles in films like Pathaan—portray a strong character similar to Agent Ilsa Faust.
Media outlets have also reported that the actress held multiple meetings with prominent Hollywood production houses during her recent visit to Los Angeles. However, it remains unclear whether these meetings were specifically for a Mission Impossible spin-off or for a new independent project.
