Conquering the Chills: A Comprehensive Weather Outlook for North India

INVC NEWS
New Delhi : As winter tightens its grip on North India, the bone-chilling cold has made life challenging, particularly in states like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Cold days and severe cold conditions have become a constant, even during daytime hours. The meteorological department predicts a slight relief from the intense cold starting January 11 in North India, but dense fog is expected to persist in the mornings and nights for the next four to five days.

Temperature Records: Bracing for the Cold

According to the weather department, the minimum temperatures are set to hover between 5-10 degrees Celsius in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, while in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, temperatures are expected to range from 11-13 degrees Celsius. The chilling scenario is further exacerbated by the dense fog that is likely to envelope the region during the next few days.

Rain Alerts: A Silver Lining

In addition to the cold wave, several states have also been put on alert for rain. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and Lakshadweep are expected to experience moderate rainfall over the next two days. Meanwhile, the northern regions, especially Rajasthan, might witness dense fog on the mornings of January 11 and 12, followed by an improvement in visibility.

Foggy Mornings: A Temporary Setback

While dense fog is expected to persist in several states, including Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, northern Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim on January 11 and 12, there is good news on the horizon. The situation is anticipated to improve post-January 11, bringing an end to the severe cold conditions and cold day occurrences.

Temperature Fluctuations: A Brief Relief

Moreover, over the next three to four days, central and eastern India is likely to witness a drop in minimum temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius. On the positive side, there is no indication of any widespread cold wave across the country in the coming five days.

Weathering the Cold Snap

In conclusion, North India is bracing for a challenging weather scenario with bone-chilling temperatures and dense fog creating difficult living conditions. However, as we move into the second half of January, the situation is expected to improve, providing some relief from the severe cold. Stay informed, stay warm, and be prepared for the temporary setbacks brought by the winter weather.
