On 18th September 2014 , troops of Bop Hakimpur, 152 Bn BSF Seized approx. 9.4 kg Gold worth Rs 2.63 Crore under police station Swarupnagar dist 24 North Pargana.
BSF troops of BOP Hakimpur 152 Bn received an specific input that a consignment of Gold smuggled from Bangladesh to India will be further taken to Kolkata.BSF troops planned an special operation. At about 0600 hrs troops of BSF intercepted one suspected lady who was seen near the border village Hakimpur but the lady succeeded to flew away leaving behind bundle (wrapped with cloth). After opening the bundle, 22 Gold biscuits along with 06 small and 13 big Gold bar were recovered. Approximate weight of seized Gold is 9.4 kg and market value is approx. 2.63 crore. Seized Gold was handed over to local custom office Kethulia for further investigation.
South Bengal frontier of BSF has seized more than 61 kg Gold and apprehend 35 Gold smuggler in 2014.
