Box Office Sunday Collection Report:
The box office battlefield witnessed a mix of highs and lows this Sunday. While Sunny Deol’s rustic drama ‘Jaat’ witnessed a major jump in collections, Ajith Kumar’s action thriller ‘Good Bad Ugly’ continued its steady run. On the other hand, Salman Khan’s much-hyped ‘Sikandar’ appears to be nearing its theatrical exit.
🔥 ‘Jaat’ Surges on Sunday with ₹14 Crore Collection
Sunny Deol’s return in full-fledged desi action mode seems to have clicked with audiences. ‘Jaat’ earned ₹14 crore on Sunday, bringing its total to ₹40.25 crore in just four days. Made on a budget of ₹100 crore, the film opened at ₹9.5 crore on Day 1, followed by ₹7 crore and ₹10 crore on Day 2 and 3, respectively.
The momentum around ‘Jaat’ is a promising sign. If this pace continues, the film might not only recover its budget but also aim for the ₹100 crore club.
🎬 Ajith Kumar’s ‘Good Bad Ugly’ Continues Its Box Office Hold
Ajith Kumar’s stylish thriller collected ₹20.5 crore on Sunday, taking its total box office tally to ₹84.5 crore. Despite its massive ₹190 crore budget, the film’s performance is encouraging. With earlier earnings of ₹28.5 crore (Day 1), ₹13.5 crore (Day 2), and ₹18.5 crore (Day 3), it’s holding strong due to word of mouth and Ajith’s mass fanbase.
The gripping storyline and high-octane sequences are keeping footfalls consistent in theatres.
📉 ‘Sikandar’ Crashes to ₹54 Lakh on Sunday
In sharp contrast, ‘Sikandar’ starring Salman Khan continued its downward spiral. On Sunday — its 15th day in theatres — the film earned only ₹54 lakh, with total earnings at ₹109.04 crore. Despite a strong opening of ₹26 crore, the film’s lack of connect with viewers and mixed reviews have led to a steep decline.
‘Sikandar’ is now being gradually pulled out of theatres as collections nosedive.
