The box office witnessed slow earnings on Friday ahead of the weekend, with films like The Kerala Story 2, Assi, and O Romeo continuing to run in theaters but showing limited growth in collections.
Industry trackers suggest that audience attention is gradually shifting toward the upcoming release of “Dhurandhar 2,” which is scheduled to hit theaters next week and is already generating buzz online.
‘The Kerala Story 2’ Friday Box Office Collection
According to trade tracking platform Sacnilk, “The Kerala Story 2” collected ₹1.44 crore on Friday, slightly lower than its ₹1.52 crore earnings on Thursday.
The film’s total box office collection has now reached approximately ₹41.69 crore. Despite drawing attention during its release phase, the film has not yet crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the domestic box office.
‘Assi’ Continues to Struggle
The film “Assi,” starring Taapsee Pannu, has seen a sharp drop in audience turnout.
According to Sacnilk data, the movie collected around ₹8 lakh on its 22nd day in theaters. Its total domestic box office collection currently stands at approximately ₹10.83 crore.
The film’s performance has remained modest since its release, with limited audience traction across major markets.
‘O Romeo’ Shows Limited Growth
The film “O Romeo,” directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor, has completed 29 days in theaters.
On Friday, the movie earned ₹15 lakh, compared to ₹20 lakh on Thursday. Its overall box office collection has reached around ₹71.30 crore.
Despite the well-known director-actor collaboration, the film still remains far from the ₹100 crore milestone.
Audience Focus Shifts to ‘Dhurandhar 2’
The slowing collections of current releases suggest that audience excitement around these films may be fading.
Attention is increasingly turning toward “Dhurandhar 2,” which is scheduled to release next week. The film has already begun trending on social media, and industry observers expect it to bring renewed momentum to theater footfall.
