Mumbai, India | April 20, 2026

The Indian box office witnessed a dynamic weekend as new releases surged while established titles showed signs of slowing momentum. Leading the charge is Bhoot Bangla, which has delivered an impressive performance by crossing the ₹50 crore mark within just three days of its release.

‘Bhoot Bangla’ Enters ₹50 Crore Club

Starring Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi, Bhoot Bangla recorded a strong upward trend over the weekend. The film collected ₹23 crore on Sunday, following ₹19 crore on Saturday and ₹12.25 crore on its opening day.

Including ₹3.75 crore from paid previews, the film’s total domestic collection now stands at ₹58 crore. The rapid growth indicates strong audience traction, particularly for its horror-comedy appeal.

‘Dacoit’ Maintains Slow Pace

Meanwhile, Dacoit, featuring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, continues to see modest earnings.

Released on April 10, the film collected ₹1.32 crore on its second Sunday, bringing its 10-day total to ₹31.92 crore. Despite steady performance, its pace remains relatively slow compared to newer releases.

 ‘Project Hail Mary’ Shows Stability

The Hollywood sci-fi film Project Hail Mary experienced a slight weekend boost. The film earned ₹1.66 crore on its fourth Sunday after collecting ₹1.78 crore on Saturday.

Since its release on March 26, the film has accumulated ₹64.32 crore at the Indian box office, reflecting consistent, if gradual, audience interest.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ Momentum Begins to Ease

Big-budget blockbuster Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, is beginning to show signs of slowdown after a record-breaking run.

On its fifth Sunday, the film collected ₹5.20 crore, with

₹4.65 crore on Saturday. Its total domestic collection has reached ₹1,115.67 crore in 32 days, while its worldwide gross stands at ₹1,756.64 crore.

Industry analysts note that if the film maintains momentum, it could soon surpass the global benchmark set by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which earned ₹1,788 crore worldwide.
