Bribe of Rs 2100 crore given to Indian officials
According to media reports, Adani gave a bribe of Rs 2100 crore to Indian officials to get his company a solar energy project and contract in America. It is also alleged that he hid this fact from the investors of the American bank. American prosecutors claim that other officials of the company had agreed to give money to Indian officials to get the contract.
Warrant issued against Adani and 7 others
In this case, a US court has issued a warrant against 7 people including Adani. However, there is a catch in this action of America. The US SEC cannot summon Adani directly. For this, it will have to give notice through diplomatic means. The SEC (US Securities and Exchange Commission) does not have the right to directly summon a foreign citizen.
SEC sought its side
The SEC wants Adani to present his side on the allegations of bribery. In this case, it will have to send summons through the Indian Embassy in the US. This summon is part of the legal document filed by the SEC in the New York court. It will take some time to reach Adani.
