The PTU sponsored five day Faculty development programme on “Applications in Mechatronics” organised at GGS-College of Modern Technology, Kharar, Chandigarh-Ludhiana Highway, near Chandigarh, recently. The programme was organized by the department of Mechanical & Electronics engineering. Dr.Pawan Kapur, Director, CSIO, Chandigarh was inaugurated the programme. The event was presided over by S.Surinder Pal Singh Sachdeva, Chairman, GGS-Sachdeva Group.
Around 100 Teachers from different colleges of Punjab Technical University (PTU) & other universities attended the programme. The event aimed at providing a platform for academia to interact with experts & exchange innovative ideas to provide guidance for Meaningful student’s education & training in Robotics, automation & Manufacturing Technologies.
Dr.Amod Kumar, Chief Scientist ,CSIO, CHd ; Dr.R.C.Agnihotri,Principal,Indo-Swiss Trg.Center; Dr.G.S. Virdi,director,GGS CMT, Kharar; Dr.Tilak Thakur, PEC Univ., Chandigarh; Prof.(Dr.) Alpana Aggarwal, Thapar University, Patiala; Dr.Ravinder Aggarwal, Thapar University, Patiala; Dr.S.S.Dhami, NITTTR, Chandigarh; Prof.J.K. Chhabra, Ex Deputy Director, CSIO, CHd and Dr. Kamaljit Rangla, CEERJ Pilani were delivered expert talks during the programme.
S.Surinder Pal Singh Sachdeva ,Chairman, GGS-Sachdeva appreciated the participation of the faculty in the program and emphasizing the importance of such Faculty Development Programs said that these programs are a great help in taking the teaching methodology and platform to a new level.
Dr.GS Virdi, Director, GGS-Sachdeva Group felicitated the gathering & said that the workshop aimed to impart the Current advances & the tools available for teaching as well as realizing new products in engineering. It is to be mentioned that Mechatronics is an integration of Mechanical engineering & Electronics & communication Engineering is a fast developing area of science & technology.
Dr.S.K.Mahla, Vice –Principal, GGS- CMT coordinated of the event also addressed & said the Mechatronics FDP covered various pratical aspects related to aeronautics, automobile, computer science, electrical engineering & instrumentation areas.
