Bandhan Bank posts strong profit growth in Q4 FY26 amid improving financial performance

Mumbai, India — April 28, 2026

Private sector lender Bandhan Bank reported a strong set of earnings for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025–26, with net profit surging 68% year-on-year to ₹534.14 crore, compared to ₹317.90 crore in the same quarter last year.

The sharp rise in profitability reflects improved core performance and steady growth in income, signaling strengthening fundamentals for the bank.

Income Growth Remains Robust

Bandhan Bank’s total income increased to ₹5,883.46 crore, up from ₹5,084.70 crore a year earlier, highlighting solid business momentum.

The bank also reported an improvement in net interest income (NII)—a key indicator of a bank’s core earnings—driven by growth in lending activities and better yield management.

Focus on Asset Quality

Investors remain closely focused on the bank’s asset quality, particularly its non-performing assets (NPAs). Over recent quarters, Bandhan Bank has been working to strengthen its loan book and reduce stress in its portfolio.

Analysts note that sustained improvement in asset quality will be critical for maintaining profitability and investor confidence.

Leadership Transition in Focus

Market participants are also watching leadership developments at the bank. Managing Director and CEO Chandra Shekhar Ghosh is set to retire soon, prompting interest in the bank’s future leadership strategy and growth direction.

The transition is expected to play a key role in shaping Bandhan Bank’s next phase of expansion.

Outlook

The Q4 performance underscores a positive trajectory for Bandhan Bank, supported by strong income growth and rising profitability. However, future performance will depend on continued improvement in asset quality and clarity on leadership succession.
