Sensex and Nifty ended Friday’s session on a positive note, recovering from intraday volatility as investors pushed key indices into the green.
The BSE Sensex, comprising 30 stocks, surged 325.72 points (0.44%) to close at 74,532.96. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 gained 112.35 points (0.49%) to settle at 23,114.50, crossing the key 23,100 mark.
Volatile Trading Session with Strong Recovery
Markets witnessed sharp swings during the day. The Sensex had climbed as much as 1,079.15 points (1.45%) to hit an intraday high of 75,286.39 before trimming gains.
Similarly, the Nifty touched an intraday high of 23,345.15, rising 343 points (1.49%), before closing slightly lower but firmly in positive territory.
Top Gainers and Losers
Among the 30 Sensex stocks, major gainers included Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Trent, Reliance Industries, Titan, NTPC, and Sun Pharma, which supported the market’s upward momentum.
On the downside, HDFC Bank, Bharat Electronics, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ICICI Bank were among the key laggards, limiting further upside.
