‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ Sets New Pre-Release Records Ahead of Global Release

Mumbai, India — March 16, 2026

The upcoming action thriller “Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge,” directed by Aditya Dhar, is already making headlines before its theatrical debut. As the countdown to its release begins, the film has reportedly broken multiple advance booking and pre-sales records both in India and overseas.

The film is scheduled to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, giving it a wide pan-India reach.

Paid Premiere Shows Generate Massive Revenue

Industry reports indicate that the paid premiere screenings scheduled for March 18 have already generated around ₹37 crore in ticket sales.

When combined with first-day advance bookings, the film’s total pre-release sales have crossed ₹120 crore globally, signaling strong audience anticipation ahead of its theatrical release.

North America Pre-Sales Set a New Benchmark

The film has also set a remarkable record in the North American market.

According to early estimates, the movie has earned over $5 million (approximately ₹42 crore) in pre-sales, marking one of the strongest overseas openings for an Indian film.

Previously, blockbuster titles such as “Pathaan,” “RRR,” and “Baahubali 2” had reached pre-sales figures close to $4 million in the same market.

Advance Booking Crosses ₹120 Crore Worldwide

“Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge” is also emerging as one of the biggest advance booking successes of 2026 for a Hindi film.

Early data suggests that ₹14.62 crore was collected from opening-day advance bookings alone, surpassing the previous benchmark set by “Border 2,” which recorded ₹12.5 crore in early ticket sales.

Trade analysts expect the opening-day advance booking figures to climb further, potentially reaching ₹30 crore before release.

Ticket Sales Surge Within 24 Hours

The film has also achieved strong early momentum in ticket sales. Within the first 24 hours, around 125,000 tickets were sold nationwide, making it the second-highest first-day ticket sale record in India.

The current top spot is held by “Jawan,” which recorded 155,000 tickets sold in the same timeframe. However, with bookings continuing rapidly, industry observers believe “Dhurandhar 2” could challenge that record before release.

Storyline and Star Cast

“Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge” features Ranveer Singh in the lead role, portraying Hamza Ali Mazari, an Indian spy operating in Karachi’s Lyari region.

The film also stars R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Danish Pandor, and Sara Arjun in key roles.

The original film “Dhurandhar” was widely appreciated for its action sequences and gripping storyline. With the sequel expanding the narrative, expectations among audiences and trade experts remain high.

Release Date

The film will hit theaters worldwide on March 19, 2026, while paid preview shows are scheduled for March 18, giving fans an early look at one of the most anticipated action films of the year.
